Our First Group Trip: The Paris Fashion Experience

If you follow my personal Instagram (@brittanydiego), you know I've been on a solo travel kick. When I landed in Paris, I knew immediately that the Fashion Mentor community needed to experience this city the way I was experiencing it.

There are plenty of group trip companies out there. None of them build itineraries for fashion stylists and designers specifically, and none of them are designed to help you connect with like minded fashion lovers who actually get your world. So I built one myself. That's how the Paris Fashion Experience, our first fashion stylist group trip, was born.

The trip sold out immediately. 24 stylists and designers flew in from across the US, Canada, England, and Saudi Arabia to spend a week immersed in the fashion capital of the world, and to build real friendships with other fashion lovers along the way.

Here's what we got into:

Christian Dior Gallery

No fashion lover’s trip to Paris is complete without the Christian Dior Gallery. We spent the morning learning about Dior's beginnings, the brand's history, and seeing the legendary New Look up close. It's an immersive experience, and if you're serious about fashion history, you could easily spend hours reading through everything on display.

Yves Saint Laurent Museum

Next was the YSL Museum, housed in his actual atelier. This one hit differently. We had a private tour before opening hours, with the entire museum to ourselves. A few of the girls got emotional standing in Yves Saint Laurent's real workspace. Iconic doesn't begin to cover it.

The First Chanel Store on Rue Cambon

No fashion history tour is complete without a visit to the original Chanel store on 31 Rue Cambon, where it all began for the legendary fashion house. Standing outside the storefront that started an empire was a full circle moment for the group. What’s even better is that we had an actual fashion historian guiding us, starting in Place Vendome where Coco Chanel lived her final years.

Eiffel Tower and the Louvre

Part styling class, part vacation. No trip to Paris is complete without photos at the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre, and traveling with stylists who actually get it means your content hits every time.

Color Theory and Private Showroom Visit

We brought in a personal shopper for a color theory lesson, then headed to a curated showroom visit with designers who sell exclusively in Paris. Real access most stylists don't get on their own.

Farewell Dinner on the Seine

We closed the trip with a river cruise at night, watching the Eiffel Tower light up over dinner. Absolutely magical, and the perfect send off for a week that flew by.
